A local Santa Claus in North Carolina accused of body-shaming a young boy is now out of a job and in the hospital.
The family of 9-year-old Anthony Mayes claim Eric Crowder — dressed as Santa — fat-shamed their son.
“He said lay off the hamburgers and French fries and that really just disrespected me and I felt awful,” said Mayes.
The story went viral, causing Crowder to quit his job.
His niece, Kelly Butler, said he was considering shaving his beard and cutting his hair, but woke up having trouble breathing. Now, he’s in the hospital after suffering a blood clot to his lung.
