Tax breaks are not the same as taxpayer funds being doled out. Moreover, Sally misses the point that a company that leaves tends to result in no taxes at all being paid. Plus, the employees who lose their jobs cannot pay taxes on money they didn’t get, and they might have to be paid unemployment, which would actually cost taxpayer dollars.

What she also fails to note is the long-range in the deal as well: the promise of 10,000 new jobs to be brought into the area. For a 7 million tax break, that’s a cheap and great deal.

Of course, Sally forgets the Obama auto bailout or the bailout of Solyndra for hundreds of millions. She had no problem with that.
