It’s not up to him, anymore than it was up to Obama to decide, it’s up to the prosecutors, without political interference.

President-elect Donald Trump will not follow through on his campaign pledge to pursue an investigation into Hillary Clinton, one of his aides told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”
“I think when the President-elect, who’s also the head of your party, tells you before he’s even inaugurated that he doesn’t wish to pursue these charges, it sends a very strong message, tone, and content” to other Republicans, former Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway said Tuesday.
“I think Hillary Clinton still has to face the fact that a majority of Americans don’t find her to be honest or trustworthy,” she added. “But if Donald Trump can help her heal then perhaps that’s a good thing.”
Conway also said that “things that sound like the campaign” are not among Trump’s priorities as he prepares his incoming administration.
Update:
They seem to be interpreting this as applying to the Clinton Foundation as well. Conway also seems to be signaling to the GOP Congress and their investigations, if this report is to be believed. Again, neither is really up to the President in any event.

U.S. Representative Jason Chaffetz, Republican chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, has said he will continue investigating Clinton’s use of a private server.
Conway indicated Trump would frown on that.
“When the president-elect, who’s also the head of your party now, tells you before he’s even inaugurated he doesn’t wish to pursue these charges, it sends a very strong message – tone and content – to the members,” Conway said on MSNBC.
