The first effort, albeit a desperate one, appears to be to influence the electors to vote for Hillary Clinton on December 19, with petitions, pressure and riots.

The second effort is this to try to get enough people protesting to shut down the inauguration. Answer Coalition and other leftist groups began organizing the day after the election.
