Two police officers were shot responding to a call of a robbery in progress in the Bronx Friday afternoon, the NYPD said.
The cops were taken to Jacobi Medical Center, but their conditions were unknown, police said.
The incident unfolded in the Parkchester section.

Two NYPD sergeants were shot — one in the head — in a broad daylight gun battle in the Bronx that left a heavily-armed robbery suspect dead, sources said.
The unidentified officers were struck about 3 p.m. while pursuing the gunman following a home invasion robbery on Beach Ave. near Merrill St. in Parkchester, sources said.
The officer shot in the head was listed in serious condition. The other sergeant was shot in the leg and is expected to survive.
The gunman, identified as Manuel Rosales, was killed in the exchange.
