Port Authority cops apprehended a man who climbed to the top of one of the towers of the George Washington Bridge in a suicide bid during the height of rush hour Friday morning, officials said.

Both sides of the upper roadway were closed about 8:30 a.m. after the bald, shirtless man climbed to the top of the tower on the New Jersey side of Hudson River span.

The Port Authority re-opened the east-bound lanes by 9 a.m. after Port Authority cops and an NYPD Emergency Services Unit team grabbed him from his perch on the edge of the tower.
