It’s the situation no parent ever wants to find themselves in – calling 911 after their young child has a seizure and stops breathing.
But a Texas couple whose son became unresponsive outside a KFC last week say that a hero police officer saved their son’s life, and there’s video to prove it.
The incident occurred outside the restaurant in Granbury around 7pm on October 12. Officer Chase Miller was scanning EMS channels when he heard a report about a young boy who had stopped breathing.
Miller rushed to the scene and, as seen in the dashboard camera on his car, immediately started administering CPR upon arriving at the scene.
The boy, Brayden Geis, had passed out in 106-degree temperatures.
The officer explained to Fox 4 News: ‘He had an elevated pulse. His heart was beating but no breath whatsoever. His lips were bright blue, and I began chest compressions.’
The dash cam footage shows Miller frantically trying to revive the child, while his terrified parents watch on, paralyzed by fear.
Miller called upon the boy’s father, John Geis, to assist him in the resuscitation. Brayden’s mother, Bethany Hoover, becomes increasingly hysterical.
However, after a short time, Brayden suddenly starts breathing again.
