Sen. Bernie Sanders on Sunday said Hillary Clinton was “absolutely correct” in leaked comments about his supporters she made at a fundraiser earlier this year.
“What she was saying there is absolutely correct. And that is, you’ve got millions of young people, many of whom took out loans in order to go to college, hoping to go out and get decent-paying, good jobs” Sanders said on “This Week” with George Stephanopoulos. “And you know what? They’re unable to do that. And yes, they do want a political revolution. They want to transform this society.”
In audio released by the Free Beacon earlier this week, Clinton described Sanders supporters as “children of the Great Recession. And they are living in their parents’ basement.” She continued, “They feel they got their education and the jobs that are available to them are not at all what they envisioned for themselves. And they don’t see much of a future.”
