CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police has made an arrest in an Epicentre parking deck attack that went viral after violent protests broke out in uptown last week.
Antonio Gatewood, 22, has been charged with common law robbery, assault inflicting serious bodily injury, false imprisonment, and ethnic intimidation. He is currently in the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sherrif’s Office.
According to CMPD, the assault happened in the 200 block of East Trade Street and was captured on video, which has been obtained by detectives. Police say detectives located and interviewed the victim in the assault.
