A huge explosion has rocked the centre of the Hungarian capital Budapest sparking fears of a terror attack.

At least two people are believed to have been injured with a large police presence at the city’s Oktogon intersection.

Reports say the blast may have been caused by a gas leak, but this has not officially been confirmed.

Footage from the scene shows a queue of police cars rushing down the street with terrified people running in the other direction.

Cops have cordoned off a large area around a shop at the corner of Kiraly Utca (King Street) and buildings have been evacuated.
