Via Fox4 News:

Police say a suspect is dead after shooting two Fort Worth police officers.

The shooting happened in a neighborhood near I-20 and Granbury Road Friday night around 8:30 p.m. at a home.

Fort Worth police say they originally responded to a call about a suicide attempt.

When officers arrived, they discovered a man dead from an apparent gunshot wound in the home. Police originally said it appeared someone had shot the man but now believe it may have been self-inflicted.

Police were advised that the suspect was in the shed behind the home. When officers approached the shed, shots were fired at officers. Police say they also returned fire.

After a standoff, police entered the shed and found the suspect dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police identified the injured officers as Ray Azucena, a probationary officer, and Xavier Serrano, a field training officer.

Police say one officer was shot multiple times in his upper torso and his arm. He is in critical condition and underwent surgery.

The second officer that was shot had on a bulletproof vest and only received minor injuries.
