Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is pressing Republicans to confirm President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee.
Ginsburg said on Wednesday that she hopes “cooler heads will prevail” as Democrats this week renew their push for the GOP-led Senate to confirm Merrick Garland.
“I do think that cooler heads will prevail, I hope sooner rather than later,” Ginsburg said at the Georgetown Law Center, according to Reuters.
“The president is elected for four years, not three years,” Ginsburg continued, referring to Obama’s authority to make appointments to the court in his last year in office.“Maybe some members of the Senate will wake up and appreciate that that’s how it should be,” she added.
