The movie based on Barack and Michelle’s Obama’s first date had a lukewarm reception at the box office during opening weekend.

Despite receiving glowing reviews from critics, “Southside With You” only made $3 million after premiering in over 800 theaters on Friday — putting it at number thirteen on the list of openings.

The film follows the story of when the couple went on their first date in Chicago in 1989 when they were young lawyers at the same firm.
