Via The Ithacan:
Police have identified Anthony Nazaire, a 19-year-old Ithaca College sophomore, as the victim who was stabbed to death early this morning on the Cornell University campus.
Nazaire was a business administration major.
A second Ithaca College student, who is not being identified at this time, was treated for not life threatening stab injuries at a regional trauma center.
The incident occurred at the intersection of College Avenue and Campus Road.
Jamie Williamson, public information officer at the Ithaca Police Department, said several hundred students attended an Omega Psi Phi event at Willard Straight Hall and the stabbing took place as the event dispersed.
Williamson also said the IPD is currently reviewing cell phone videos of the incident.
Around 1:57 a.m., officers from the Ithaca Police Department and the Cornell University Police Department responded to “a large fight,” according to the IPD release. After medical aid was provided by first responders at the scene, Nazaire was transported to Cayuga Medical Center and was later pronounced dead. The other victim was flown by helicopter to Upstate Medical Center for treatment and was later released.
