Three people were killed and at least 23 others have been wounded in shootings since Saturday afternoon, officials said.
The first fatal shooting happened at about 12:15 p.m. in the city’s Park Manor neighborhood on the South Side.
Three people were shot in the 7100 block of South Rhodes Avenue after an argument broke out between them and two other men. One of the men they were arguing with pulled out a gun and began firing.
A boy, 17, was shot in the thigh and taken to Stroger Hospital where he was listed in good condition. A 19-year-old man suffered a wound to the head and was taken in critical condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The third victim, a 34-year-old man, drove himself to Provident Hospital of Cook County with a gunshot wound to the neck. His condition was stabilized, police said.
