THE ITALIAN earthquake which killed more than 250 people this week, including at least three Britons, was a “punishment from Allah”, a deluded Islamic website has claimed.

‘Say Yes to Islam’, which has more than 45,000 followers on Facebook, said the disaster was “undoubtedly” a divine response to “false faith”.

The insensitive message comes after Italy declared a day of mourning for the victims, as battered towns in the centre of the country attempt to come to terms with the shocking incident.

On the tragedy, the site wrote: “Undoubtedly the earthquakes that are happening these days are some of the signs that Allah uses to frighten His servants.
