The so-called “Libertarian” candidates running third-party can almost be classified as leftists in Libertarian drag based on the stream of profoundly anti-Libertarian statements they’ve made throughout this election cycle.

After endorsing the terrorist organization “Black Lives Matter” and denouncing religious freedom, Gary Johnson’s VP pick Bill Weld has now attacked gun ownership, saying handguns are “even worse than” AR-15’s.

In an interview with Revolt TV, the so-called Libertarian candidate slammed the sale of certain firearms, classifying rifles as a “weapon of mass destruction” that is only outdone by the damage inflicted by handguns.

“The five-shot rifle, that’s a standard military rifle; the problem is if you attach a clip to it so it can fire more shells and if you remove the pin so that it becomes an automatic weapon, and those are independent criminal offenses. That is when they become, essentially a weapon of mass destruction. The problem with handguns probably is even worse than the problem of the AR15.”

Weld also supported the idea that people on the terrorist watch list should be banned from buying firearms, a not-so-traditional libertarian stance when taking into account that innocent people regularly end up on that list. His entire position suggests the government has the competence to handle these matters, a belief as antithetical to libertarianism as free-enterprise is to socialists.
