Donald Trump ended weeks of acrimony and widespread speculation on Friday by endorsing three moderate Republican lawmakers – including House Speaker Paul Ryan – as he spoke to thousands of fans in Ryan’s home state of Wisconsin.
‘In our shared mission to make America great again I support and endorse our Speaker of the House Paul Ryan,’ he said to a chorus of mostly cheers.
Trump called for a return to Ronald Reagan’s vision of a ‘big tent’ Republican Party that includes conservatives, moderates, libertarians and crossover Democrats in its fold.‘I hold in the highest esteem Sen. John McCain for his service to our country in uniform and in public office,’ Trump continued. ‘And I fully support and endorse his re-election. Very important. We’ll work together.’
