Via The Daily Mail:
An overwhelming majority of Americans had a positive impression of the speech Donald Trump delivered Thursday night when he formally accepted the Republican Party nomination in Cleveland.
A snap poll by CNN / ORC taken the night of the speech found that 57 per cent of Americans were 'very positive' about the speech.
Another 18 per cent were 'somewhat positive' about it, while 24 per cent said the speech had a 'negative effect' on them.
It is still too early to tell whether Trump will get a 'bounce' from his convention speech, a typical bump that presidential candidates receive with the customary flood of positive media attention and puff pieces that typify convention coverage.
There was barely a hint of the split in the GOP over Trump's candidacy in the convention hall during his speech that had been a force all week through the convention, particularly when boos and shouts erupted during Senator Ted Cruz's speech, when he failed to endorse Trump.
Instead, Trump appeared to have the party's full attention as he laid out a bleak assessment of the violence and terror that has taken place this summer.
'We will be a country of generosity and warmth. But we will also be a country of law and order,' Trump vowed during his speech.
The only disruption occurred was from a single protester who security dispatched with immediately.
Pollster Frank Luntz tweeted Thursday night, 'Mark my words. This speech will put Trump even or ahead of Hillary in polls by Monday, when the Democratic convention begins.'
