Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL) aimed its propaganda machine at “the black community” in the United States after attacks on police in Baton Rouge and Dallas.
Jihadists on pro-ISIL social media channels urged African Americans to “join their version of Islam to help wage war on the U.S. government,” the SITE intel watchdog group reported.
Two Baton Rouge Police Department officers and one East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office deputy were killed in a shooting on July 17 in the Louisiana capital. Two other deputies and a Baton Rouge officer were wounded in the shooting.
