Little is known about Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel, the suspect identified by French media as being behind the attack in Nice that killed at least 84 people and wounded dozens.
There has been no official conformation from investigators that Bouhlel, 31, was responsible.
However, if he is found to be behind it, an identification card located in the truck he used to mow down his victims shows that he was a French national of Tunisian descent. He lived in Nice.
Bouhlel does not appear to have been known to intelligence services and was not on a watch-list, according to the Nice-Matin newspaper. The outlet also reported that Bouhlel, who was killed by police as he attempted to flee the scene, worked as a delivery driver and was known to them in connection with petty theft and minor violence.
