Via Countering Jihad:

The National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM), formerly the Council on American-Islamic Relations Canada (CAIR-CAN), has the support of political leaders and activists from six Canadian cities (Calgary, Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Windsor and London) for their Charter for Inclusive Communities. A charter which aims at combatting the alleged rise in ‘Islamophobia’ and affirms certain principles, such as: “Islamophobia, like all other forms of racism, hate, xenophobia, and bigotry, has no place in Canadian society.” When Islamists like NCCM mention ‘Islamophobia’ they essentially mean any criticism of Islamic beliefs or customs is considered hate. NCCM is the same group Jason MacDonald, former Director of Communications for Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, accused to having “…documented ties to a terrorist organization such as Hamas.” So much for NCCM representing the interest of ‘moderate’ Muslims.

Hate crimes against Muslim Canadians did increase from 2012 to 2014; however, the actual number of hate crimes against Muslim Canadians in 2014 is less than half of the total number of hate crimes committed against Jewish Canadians (99 to 213). Sounds like Canada has a much larger anti-Jewish problem than anti-Muslim problem. While attacks against innocent Muslims or any other group should always be condemned, Muslim activist groups and liberal politicians are blowing things out of proportion in order to support their respective agendas. Islamists groups such as NCCM are using Canadianmulticulturalism to champion this anti-Islamophobia campaign. CIJ News reports on how the Canadian Liberal Party, an advocate of multiculturalism, is helping to spread this Muslim victimhood type narrative:

NCCM’s [recent advocacy for this charter] comes one month after the Liberal Party, vowing to “aggressively eliminate Islamophobia”, approved a resolution at its 2016 Winnipeg Biennial Convention which condemned “all forms of Islamophobia” and recommended forming a Task Force to help the federal government shape its strategic vision to eliminate discrimination and hatred…

After the Liberals won last fall’s elections, numerous “anti-Islamophobia” initiatives sprung up across Canada. Two confidential “Islamophobia hotlines” were launched in Edmonton and Vancouver in the spring….
