Via Fox News: 

At least three suicide bombers and nine gunman attacked a mausoleum sacred to Shiite Muslims north of Baghdad Thursday, killing at least 26 people and injuring 52 others. 

Iraqi police officials told the Associated Press the attack began when a when a suicide bomber targeted policemen guarding the entrance to the Sayyid Mohammed shine in Balad.

After the initial explosion, police said a second suicide bomber entered the shrine with nine gunmen, targeting security forces as well as families gathering to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, the holiday marking the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Police officials said a third bomber was killed, along with the other attackers. More than two hours after the attack began, police said the situation was under control.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility. However, the ISIS terror group has carried out multiple attacks targeting Shiites in Iraq in recent months.

Last week, an ISIS-claimed bombing in Baghdad killed at least 186 people.
