hollandeclinton

On second thought, not so shocking.

Via The Hill:

French President François Hollande on Thursday endorsed Hillary Clinton for president, saying it would complicate relations between Europe and the U.S. if Donald Trump were elected

"The best thing the Democrats can do is to get Hillary Clinton elected," Hollande said in a newspaper article published in France's Les Echos newspaper.

"[Trump’s] slogans differ little from those of the extreme right in Europe and France: fear of the migratory wave, stigmatization of Islam, questioning of representative democracy, denouncing elites," he wrote.

In France, Hollande is facing opposition from Marine Le Pen, the leader of France's National Front party who opposes immigration.

Le Pen has called for France to leave the European Union.
