A little boy diagnosed with progressive hearing loss has been given back the gift of sound after doctors fitted him with hearing aids for the first time.

Kaiden Orantes, two, began losing his hearing after his birth and was diagnosed with progressive hearing loss.

Doctors still aren’t sure what caused the sudden loss of hearing but in order to help him gain some sense of sound and encourage him to speak, they gave him two special-made hearing aids.

In a video taken seconds after the aids were turned on, Caitlin says ‘Hi, hello!’ to her young son.

Immediately the boy’s face lights up and he beings dancing and jumping with excitement.

‘He started freaking out and did the happy dance,’ Caitlin told ABC News.
