The Pride Flag will be displayed on the Fort Harrison VA grounds in Helena beginning June 17 in conjunction with other Pride events beginning in Montana that day.

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has been observing Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Pride Month nationwide throughout the month of June.

LGBT Pride Month is observed in order to recognize the impact and contributions LGBT individuals have had and continue to have in society and in the workplace. It is a positive stance against discrimination and violence toward lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people.

LGBT Pride Month is officially recognized as one of the special observances the federal government highlights throughout the year.
