Via NY Daily News:

It feels like a bazooka — and sounds like a cannon.

One day after 49 people were killed in the Orlando shooting, I traveled to Philadelphia to better understand the firepower of military-style assault weapons and, hopefully, explain their appeal to gun lovers.

But mostly, I was just terrified.

Many gun shops turned down our request to fire and discuss the AR-15, a style of semi-automatic rifle popular with mass killers such as San Bernardino terrorist Syed Farook and Orlando terrorist Omar Mateen.

There’s virtually nothing true in the article.

1. AR-15 is not an ‘assault’ or military weapon.
2. It’s popular with people who kill with rifle because it’s the most popular rifle in America. However murders with rifle are an extremely small fraction of murders.
3. ’empty a 40-round clip in less than five seconds’. Where to begin? Clips are different from magazines. You cannot empty a clip by firing a rifle. Moreover, AR-15 is one round per trigger pull, period. There is no greater rapidity of firing.
4. ‘the recoil bruised my shoulder’. AR-15 is known for virtually no recoil.
5. ‘In fully automatic mode, it doesn’t take any imagination to see dozens of bodies falling in front of your barrel. All it takes is the will to do it.’ No, acquiring a full automatic is severely restricted by law, so it isn’t just ‘at your will’.

For Mr. Kunztman’s reference, here’s a 18 year old girl shooting an AR-15. No shoulder boo-boos!
