Multiple sources have confirmed that two people were shot Thursday night in Deerfield Township, including a deputy.

A swarm of police vehicles surrounds the Landen Square Shopping Center along Route 22.

Little information has been released, but the Deerfield Township Fire Department warns of an active shooter in the Landen area on their Twitter page.

“Active shooter in the area behind Kroger in Landen. Be advised to stay inside and not open doors to strangers,” the department tweeted.

Warren County officials have ordered a “shelter in place” in the Deerfield Township area, saying a mobile alert has been sent to residents in the area.

Authorities in Ohio have captured a man who they say shot two people including a sheriff’s deputy, Fox 19 in Cincinnati reported.

The shooting happened Thursday night in Deerfield Township, about 25 miles northeast of Cincinnati.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office captured 19-year-old Mohammed Abdou Laghaoui following several hours of searching.
