LOUISVILLE, Ky. —A Louisville man is behind bars charged with breaking into and vandalizing a mosque.
Mahomed Haji was arraigned Tuesday for burglary and disorderly conduct.
According to arrest records, he broke windows and kicked in a back door at a mosque on South Fourth Street Monday morning.
Police said when an officer arrived, the 31-year-old was still busting out windows with a large stick and threatened to destroy the mosque and a nearby liquor store when he was released from jail.
A judge left his bond at $5,000.
