…Participants gave higher marks to Trump with respect to who they thought would do better creating jobs (52 percent to 41 percent) and who would be most effective at fighting the Islamic State (49 percent to 41 percent). Trump also led with respect which candidate, himself or Clinton, is more inspiring (48 percent to 39 percent) and more honest and trustworthy (44 percent to 39 percent). Voters also preferred Trump to Clinton as a stronger leader (49 percent to 45 percent).

Asked who they would rather invite to their backyard barbecue, voters chose Trump 47 percent to 39 percent. While voters indicated a preference for having Trump over to their next get-together, 47 percent said they would rather have Clinton come to their aid in a personal crisis, compared to 41 percent who would rather have Trump.
