Laremy Tunsil’s draft day saga has gone mainstream enough that politicians are officially weighing in. Well, at least one politician: New Jersey governor Chris Christie, a noted Cowboys and NFL fan.

On Friday morning, Christie was a guest host on CBS Sports’ Boomer & Carton. As you can watch in the video above, Christie and Craig Carton wasted no time diving into the NFL Draft. After briefly discussing the Cowboys’ selection of Ezekiel Elliott — Christie approved of the move — they turned their attention to Tunsil, who experienced a dramatic fall down draft boards on Thursday night before the Dolphins scooped him up in the middle of the first round.

That’s because his Twitter and Instagram accounts were both hacked. A video on Twitter showed Tunsil using a gas mask to smoke marijuana while a photo was posted to his Instagram page that seemed to indicate Tunsil was taking money from a coach to help his mom pay for electricity and water.

“It’s unbelievable,” Christie said. “Because the bong hits aren’t enough. Give me the gas mask too … It’s incredible. I can’t take my eyes off it. It’s unbelievable.”

Though the night took an unfortunate turn for Tunsil, he’s at least lucky that Christie isn’t a prosecutor.

“When I was a prosecutor, I would’ve gone in and cuffed this guy,” Christie said. “I would’ve been all over it.”
