Oscar-winning actress Emma Thompson recently broke a police injunction to protest against fracking plans at a farm in the U.K.—but it almost landed her in deep doo-doo.
The 57-year-old actress was filming a parody episode of the Great British Bake Off called “Frack Free Bake Off” with her sister Sophie Thompson.
The two jumped a fence, evading police, when the farmer on the property arrived on the scene with his tractor…
While Thompson voiced her opposition to potential fracking at the site, the farmer drove his manure spreader in circles around the film crew, splattering protesters and crew with a liquid manure sludge.
To his credit, the farmer, who leases the contested land where the protest was staged, didn’t cause any major damage.
As for Thompson, she was protected behind her fellow protesters, film crew, and a baking stand set, so she was not hit by the odiferous onslaught.
After circling around the scene three times, the irate farmer drove off, having missed his target but made his point.
