WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. –A California family says it barricaded itself in a bedroom while a home invader tried to get in, then cornered the man and held him at gunpoint until police came, reports CBS Sacramento.
Audra Humphrey described the panic she felt when she realized a stranger had entered her home.
“I don’t know what his intentions were, I was so worried about my family,” Humphrey said.
She said she had left her dog out the back door and briefly left it open while going to get a sweater, but when she returned realized “something wasn’t right.”
“The dog was barking so differently and was making weird noise,” Humphrey said. Then the man bolted inside her house.
“That’s when I yelled for my husband, and we barricaded the door” to a bedroom, she said.
