WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. –A California family says it barricaded itself in a bedroom while a home invader tried to get in, then cornered the man and held him at gunpoint until police came,reports CBS Sacramento.

Audra Humphrey described the panic she felt when she realized a stranger had entered her home.

“I don’t know what his intentions were, I was so worried about my family,” Humphrey said.

She said she had left her dog out the back door and briefly left it open while going to get a sweater, but when she returned realized “something wasn’t right.”

“The dog was barking so differently and was making weird noise,” Humphrey said. Then the man bolted inside her house.

“That’s when I yelled for my husband, and we barricaded the door” to a bedroom, she said.
