A Navy officer has been bashed by a group of men on a train in Sydney’s south-west while returning from an Anzac Day service on Monday.
The 24-year-old, who was in full uniform, was returning home from the Anzac Day Memorial Service about 2.45pm when he approached a group of men, who were drinking alcohol and harassing commuters.
After approaching the group and asking that they stop drinking and curb their behaviour, the officer was punched in the nose by one of the men as he left the train at Glenfield.
The officer suffered a bloody nose but did not require any treatment.A police investigation is under way.
Police are looking for a man they believe may be able to assist with inquiries. He has been described as Caucasian in appearance, about 160 centimetres tall with a large build and brown, thinning hair.
