Ohio Gov. John Kasich may have hit on something last week when he declared he is the Republican Party’s “only way out of a path to darkness.”
With just 91 days to the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, you can see the big Elephant walking along the shore of Lake Erie, following that darkened path and coming across all sorts of revelations.
First it hears a loud bombastic voice crying out from the lake, only to see Donald Trump trying to swim with his mouth wide open. “What’s this all about,” the Elephant wonders, somewhat intrigued. It listens closely only to hear Trump making crude insults followed by factless claims. “This sounds like the drunk sitting at the end of the bar at every tavern in America,” the Elephant realizes. Suddenly there’s a wall of water between them as The Donald begins sinking under the weight of his buffoonery.
