No word if the intruder had a Firearms Identification Card for the weapon but… I’m guessing no.

Via Mass Live:

A Taunton resident disarmed one intruder, took his gun and used to shoot another dead after two men forced their way into his apartment on Monday, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.

Around 8:30 p.m., two masked men barged into 24-year-old Nicholas Hoard’s home and attacked him, the DA’s office said in a statement. One man allegedly put Hoard in a headlock while the other searched the apartment.

But Hoard grabbed his attacker’s firearm while the other intruder, Dominque Scott, 23, of Taunton, was out of sight, according to the statement. When Scott returned, he allegedly pointed a handgun at Hoard.

“According to the preliminary investigation, the suspect rummaging through the apartment came back into the main area of the apartment due to the commotion of fighting and drew his firearm upon Mr. Hoard,” the DA’s office said in the statement. “Mr. Hoard shot the suspect, later identified as Mr. Scott, one time. The second, unidentified suspect, then fled the apartment on foot while Mr. Hoard called 911.”

Scott died from the gunshot, the DA’s office said. Hoard is being questioned by authorities and has not been criminally charged. The investigation is ongoing, and police are searching for the second suspect.
