It was not a riot. Thousands protested peacefully in the square asking for greater freedoms, even making an American Statue of Liberty until the massacre, when tanks and soldiers came in to kill them and crush the protest.

There are few more iconic images from the time than this, as this man tried to prevent tanks from getting to the students. That is ‘strength’.
