Ferguson Burning

Ferguson is broke after losing revenue due to the riots, looting and fires.

Via Independent Sentinel:

The U.S. Department of Justice is suing the city of Ferguson, Mo., for unjust policing that violates the civil and constitutional rights of citizens, Attorney General Loretta Lynch announced Wednesday.

Ferguson protests and investigations were based on the now fully debunked “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” lie promoted by the White House and far-left groups. The officer shot Michael Brown in self-defense and the DOJ could find no way to charge him with a bias crime though they tried.

The FBI investigated the police department and found them in violation of civil rights laws and mandated changes according to their new national movement to put local police under federal control.

The city had asked for more money to implement the changes the federal government demanded. They say they don’t have enough money to do it. The result is the lawsuit.

The DOJ overhauled its municipal court system as well as mandating policing changes.

The DOJ lawsuit came one day after the Ferguson City Council voted to change a proposed consent decree to reform the police and courts. The council said the package, which had been negotiated between the DOJ and city officials, cost too much.

Lynch said, “There is no price for constitutional policing.” Instead of working with the council, she decided to say they rejected the deal and is suing them.

Lynch believes the deal is fair and cost effective and Ferguson has no other choice.

The lawsuit alleges a “pattern or practice of law enforcement conduct that violates the First, Fourth and 14th Amendments of the Constitution and federal civil rights laws,” Lynch said. “We intend to aggressively prosecute this case and I have no doubt that we will prevail.”

The current relationship between the federal government and states is radically different than what the Constitution allows and what the Founding Fathers intended and they never intended for local police to be controlled by the federal government. Using civil rights as an excuse doesn’t change the facts of what they are trying to do. The Michael Brown case on which this is based was a fraud.
