I wouldn’t have a problem with this except Cuomo has decided to allow only CVS to sell a lifesaving overdose medication. As such, he’s picked CVS as a winner. Government should never pick winners and losers.

The NYS Department of Health is working with a local pharmacy chain to help battle opioid overdose deaths in New York State. Officials with the Department of Heath say the agreement authorizes 479 CVS/pharmacy locations across the State to provide Naloxone, or Narcan, to their customers without a prescription.
Naloxone is a proven life-saver that counteracts the depression of the central nervous system and respiratory system, allowing an overdose victim to breathe normally.” Said State Health Commissioner, Dr. Howard Zucker.
“This agreement with CVS/pharmacy will help to save lives and hopefully get people on the road to recovery.” In a release, officials say that Naloxone poses no danger to those who might come into contact with it and it has no potential for being abused.
