A notice posted in the bathroom of a local restaurant has garnered quite the response on social media.
Posted to Facebook over the weekend, the photo shows a note which hangs inside the unisex bathroom at Pure Pizza off Central Avenue in Plaza Midwood. The photo, shared to a Plaza Midwood group page, has nearly 600 likes and dozens of comments. Overwhelmingly, the comments praise the business for thinking to provide accommodations for “everyone’s comfort”, as one poster stated.[…]
“The reason I listed several instances [in the letter hanging in the bathroom] is to bring awareness to why gender neutral restrooms are often necessary. My hope is to shine a light that it’s not ‘dirty perverts’ or ‘molesters’ eager to hang out in a unisex bathroom, but individuals that have legitimate reasons to be there, and for others to find compassion rather than animosity.”
