NYPD Thugs

Gun free zone signs aren’t working.

The NYPD should investigate why it took so long for police to respond to an 18-year-old woman who was raped by a group of five men at a Brooklyn playground, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams said Sunday.

“We need to listen to the 911 call,” said Adams, a retired police captain. “We need to find out…the response time from the time it was reported. This baffles all my police experience. Something is missing.”

It remains unclear how long it actually took cops to respond to distress call made by the girl’s father.

The man told cops he was chased off by the five assailants — one who pulled a gun on him — before the attack inside Osborne Playground about 9:10 p.m. Thursday.

Each of the five men then raped the young woman, the NYPD said.[…]

The five perpetrators remain on the loose. On Saturday, police released surveillance video of the gang walking into a nearby deli before the attack.

“They looked happy, like they didn’t care,” a deli worker told the Daily News Sunday. “They are bad guys.”

At the press conference, Adams also asked the NYPD to explain why the assault wasn’t publicized until Saturday.

“Something is not right,” the Beep charged. “The community needs to be notified immediately when we have such a savage attack with a handgun and a rape.”

It would not have taken that long to garner headlines if the attack had occurred on the Upper East Side, he argued.

“People should be protected,” he said. “People should be aware.”
