We can’t solve every crime but we can make progress [but there ARE background checks, he still can’t answer how if these actions wouldn’t have stopped these mass shootings, how is that ‘progress’]

Obama: nothing we are doing makes it harder for you to purchase a firearm, if you need on. There are always questions about whether having a gun in the home keeps you safer. What is true is that you have to be pretty well trained to defend yourself with a gun. And there’s always the possibility that it leads to a tragic accident. [it sounds like he didn’t anticipate these questions, he’s stuttering his brains out]. Anybody can go on the internet and get a gun.

Taya Kyle: The laws you propose do not solve these shootings. Yes, I have that hope too, the people breaking the law aren’t going to stop. Why can’t we give people hope in a different way? Federal prosecution of gun crimes is 40% so there’s a problem there. Also there’s an all time low for murders, all time high for gun ownership. I want the hope that I can protect myself. So I think this what you are saying can be a false sense of hope.
Obama: Thank your husband for his service and thank you for your service. Violent crime has been steadily declining. Overall most cities are much safer. I challenge that it’s because of gun ownership [factually challenged once again]. You will be able to purchase a firearm.
Obama: Chicago has strong gun control laws. So people say those laws don’t work. But guns are coming from across the border in Indiana. [so why isn’t there more crime in Indiana than in Chicago?] {talks about the imaginary gun show loophole]. Definition of doing biz if you are making a profit and repeatedly selling you should have to do background checks. [they already do]. We need Congress to set up a system to make sure we are doing the best background check possible [you aren’t doing a good job with the law as you have it now] NRA used to support background checks. [we have background checks] There’s a reason the NRA wouldn’t come [he’s still doing it, he can’t have any kind of a civil discussion, NRA was damned either way, if they came they would have been in middle of a manipulated stacked audience]. The idea that this is a plot contradicts everything we do to benefit people in every other part of life. I’m happy to talk to NRA but the conversation has to be based on facts and truth. [he’s essentially saying now NRA is saying ‘Obama wants to take your guns’ to bump up sales]
Cooper: Lot of people don’t trust you. What can you say to people to convince them you’re not coming for their guns.
Obama: gun sales have gone up, I’ve been very good for gun manufacturers. I’m proud of my city, Chicago, but every week there’s a story from there because of gun violence. People occupy different realities [you can say that again!]. Some have grown up hunting with dad, others where it’s cheaper to get a gun than a book.
Obama says he does skeet shooting at Camp David. Said he never felt a need to get a gun in Hawaii.

Parent of Aurora victim asked what do you respond when you hear that none of these executive orders would actually do anything to have stopped that shooting or other mass shootings.
So his response is so ‘what is your answer’? My answer Mr. Teves, is that why would you enact things that are not solutions?
He also responded ‘something must be done’ and talked about his son. But if doing something would not have resolved it, it’s just action for the sake of action. It’s all about emotions not facts.
