The judge hearing the case of Baltimore police officer William Porter. Porter faces the most severe charges of the six officers charged, including manslaughter, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and misconduct in office in the death of Freddie Gray. The judge sent the jury back to deliberate more which is common when a jury is deadlocked. It is not common however to have a jury say it is deadlocked after only one day, sounds like there are some fundamental disagreements brewing there.

If the jury continues to be deadlocked the judge might have to call for a mistrial and then the prosecution has to decide whether to rebring the case or not.

The city has been gearing up for whatever might happen when a verdict ultimately comes in, given the destruction that followed the case previously.
