You may recall this guy, who went up to every cop he could find at recent Chicago protests and, from inches away variously tried to stare them down, screamed or blew a whistle in their faces. Megyn Kelly even commented on him, asking the question how was this right for him to ‘stare down’ cops who presumably had nothing to do with the Laquan McDonald case. Just a young guy upset over the death of Laquan McDonald, right?

Well, not quite.

He’s Lamon Reccord, who media has identified as 16 years old.

But Reccord is a professional community organizer. In fact, he says so, in his LinkedIn page. How many 16 year olds do you know who have a LinkedIn page?

In fact, he even is going to school for it.

Yes, that’s right, there’s a school in Chicago for training kids to be organizers, the Chicago Freedom School. Reccord is a ‘Fellow’ of the school, his fellowship runs from July to Dec. 19, 2015. Fellows, who are between the ages of 14-17, are paid a stipend.

The Freedom Fellowship begins with the four-week Summer Leadership Institute in July. Then, from August to December, Fellows meet weekly after school and once a month on Saturdays to design and implement a collective action project. Fellows receive a stipend after successfully completing the program. CTA passes and meals are provided.

Following an intensive summer program, CFS provides ongoing support to Fellows as they carry out action campaigns aimed at effecting social change in their schools and communities.

I think we can guess what Lamon’s ‘collective action project’ has been. Does he get a bigger stipend if he screams in the faces of more cops?

Of course, Lamon isn’t just connected with that school. He’s made the rounds. He works for Chicago Votes, a get-out the vote group in Chicago, and he works for Chicago Votes co-founder, Harish Patel, who is the Democratic candidate running for State rep for the 40th district.

He’s also working for the campaign of Kim Foxx, a Democratic candidate for the State’s Attorney’s office. That should come as some great reassurance to the Chicago police officers that he abused.
