The debate is on CBS, just starting now. Parentheses are my critique.

Most talked about moments on Twitter?
Hillary: 60% of my donors are women.
Sanders: Eisenhower a socialist
O’Malley: Trump is an immigrant bashing carnival barker

O’Malley: We shouldn’t return to the divisive figures of the past (looking at you Hills…)
Hillary: I’m going to keep talking about you, to lift up the people of this country, to figure out how we can even the odds.
Sanders: We need a political revolution, millions of people are going to have to stand up and say we are taking back out country.

10:49
What crisis would you say proves that you are tested?
Hillary: the decision to take out Bin Laden (how is that a crisis or a difficult choice? I don’t get it)
O’Malley: there is no one thing, everything is always changing. I knew how to lead, and I know how to lead in a crisis.
Sanders: I was chair of Veteran’s Committee for two years. (AND YOU DID NOTHING!)

Hillary: We should proudly support the ACA.

Hillary: We should have free community college, and debt free other college.

10:33
Mizzou- would you suggest this kind of activism?

Hillary: I do appreciate that people are speaking up. I think what’s happening there is deep despair that people of color have (it’s not the 1940s). I met with mothers of dead (that included Mike Brown, who tried to kill a cop). Older white man shot boy in car for playing loud music. All our children deserve chance to live up to their potential (then don’t attack cops).

Race and police
O’Malley: We should look for things that work. (uh huh that worked well in Baltimore…) I’ve attended more gravesides than any of the others on stage( that’s not something to brag about) Black Lives Matter (this is not the 1940s).
Sanders: we have more people in jail, disproportionately black and latino(so let’s not arrest the people who commit crimes). We need to end minimum sentencing. Remove marijuana.

10:28
Can you be sure that there wouldn’t be another shoe drop from FBI investigation?
Hillary: I think after 11 hours that should tell you. (FBI is still investigating you you ridiculous wanker).

10:24
Sanders: political revolution is about real change, we’re beating Sec among young people.
I’m still sick and tired of her emails.
Hillary: cackle. I agree completely. I give Sanders lot of credit for bringing people into political process. Republicans trying to prevent voices from being heard, trying to prevent people from voting. I think Obama deserves more credit than he gets for what he got done, despite Washington.

Hillary gets twitter rebuke for using 9/11 to justify Wall Street donations. (Good point)
Hillary: Don’t think Glass Steagall would get job done.

Guns.
10:10

Hillary: Sanders gave immunity to gun makers. Nearly 3000 people have been killed with guns since last debate. WE need to go after gun lobby, close the gun show loophole (which doesn’t exist). (How are gun makers responsible. This is madness.)
Sanders: We need to do away with loophole. WE need to address mental health. We need a consensus that will work.
O’Malley: Hillary has been on all sides of issue.
Sanders: think it’s safe to say Baltimore is not a good example of a safe city. (Ba-zing!) We need to bring people together.

10:00

You’ve received millions from Wall Street how will you level playing field, if you are beholden to those guys?
Hilllary: I’ve laid out a very aggressive plan to go after Wall Street, my proposal is much more comprehensive than what Ben put forward (Ben? Is she drunk?)
Ben: She’d not done nearly enough. Teddy Roosevelt would say break them up, break up banks, and support credit unions. Millions of dollars in campaign contributions and they expect to get something back from her.
Hillary: You can’t impugn my integrity. (what integrity?) Most of my donors were woman. I spent a lot of time after 9/11 helping NY and Wall Steet rebuild as a rebuke to terrorists. My proposal is tougher more comprehensive because I go after all Wall Street not just big banks.
O’Malley: I wouldn’t be taking my orders from Wall Street, or use the counsel that Hillary did. Hillary’s proposal is ‘weak tea’. WE need modern version of Glass Stegall.

9:52
President’s counsel has said $15 could have job loss?
Sanders: there are consequences for any policy but this country needs to move toward a living wage.
O’Malley: In MD we defended both living wage and $15 minimum wage. Economy will grow.
Sanders: You see cities like Seattle doing it and doing it well (NO it isn’t! They have big job loss there!)
Hillary: I’m for 12 not 15.
O’Malley: We have to stop taking our advice from Wall Street (bashing Hillary’s prior answer).
First Hillary cackle of the evening. (Make it stop!)

9:49

O’Malley: you’ll never hear this from that immigrant bashing carnival barker Donald Trump. Net immigration from Mexico was zero last year. (what the hell?)

How could you go further with executive action?
Hillary: President has appealed. My reading of law convinces me that the President has the authority to do what he has done(despite he himself saying he did not in fact have the authority). We need to make it possible for them to come out of the shadows.

9:43
Hillary: Obamacare great accomplishment of the Dem party and president Obamacare.
Sanders: Healthcare is a right, not a privilege.

9:38

Financial squeeze on the middle class. Who pays for all the free stuff you are saying you will provide?
Hillary: Not the middle class. Taxing the wealthy more.
O’Malley: Yes, we did ask top earners to pay more in MD. I don’t believe in lower capital gains. (so he will completely kill investment)
Sanders: in last 30 years there has been a massive redistribution of wealth from the middle class to the top 1%. Most corporations not paying any taxes(not true). They need to start paying their fair share. We haven’t come up with an exact number yet, but not as high as Eisenhower at 90. (idiots don’t know that there were tremendous loopholes ththen that do not exist now).

Break. Good questions so far, although one gets the sense they may have provided them to the candidates ahead of time. That said the answers still suck bean. To summarize so far: they would let in 65,000 ‘refugees’, Bernie sees no danger from Russia, they still can’t bring themselves to call it Islamic terrorism, and Hillary has no good answer for her regime changing nonsense in Libya.

9:30
Sanders: Don’t need nuclear weapons, cold war is over. Need to reprint resources. (stupidest person on the planet)
O’Malley: I was first to say we should accommodate 65,000 refugees, with adequate screening(which the FBI already said they could not do).
Hillary: I also said we should take 65,000 with adequate screening (why don’t any of you know what the FBI director said? That there cannot be adequate screening). But we can’t ignore Russia.

9:29
Does Softness of language mean you cannot adequately address this?

O’Malley: Brutal group is perverting name of a great religion.
Hillary: We already have an authorization, don’t need declaration of war. We have to do more to prevent flood of fighters from coming back (but you let the refugees in by the thousands).

Are we at war with radical Islam?

9:24
Hillary: We’re not at war with Islam. Bush said we are not at war with Islam or Muslims, we are at war with violent extremists. It doesn’t seem to have a purpose other then lust for power. (It does have a purpose -imposing the Caliphate, you ignorant woman!)

9:20
Good question, asking about Hillary pushing regime change in Libya
Hillary: Once we got Saddam out, they had a fair election, but we need to stand with them.
O’Malley: All these places she’s talking are now a mess, Libya, Afghanistan, etc.
Sanders: hope this country will not turn its back

9:16

Sanders, do you have anything to criticize about Clinton’s time as Secretary of State?
Sanders: regime changes have unintended consequences, I am more conservative on these than Hillary. (for example, Libya)
O’Malley: problems of failure of understanding the the Iraqi military elements, not just understanding dictators, but understanding all the other elements.
Sanders: this is a war for the soul of Islam.
Hillary: Turkey et al have to be clear about if they stand against this.

9:09

To Hillary: Wouldn’t your legacy be that it has failed to contain ISIS?
Hillary: It cannot be an American fight. (in other words you will not choose to fight them. And you avoided the question, blah blah blah, not answering question). Bush’s fault (blah blah)
O’Malley: It is America’s fight, although not solely our fight. We do have a role in this. The great failing has been human intelligence on the ground(actually that’s a good point). Our role is to confront evil when it rises. (good answer)
Sanders: greatest threat is climate change, and this attack is directly related to climate change. Climate change has lead to the rise of Al Qaeda and ISIS. Invasion of Iraq was one of worst blunders in history of U.S.

9:05

Sanders: We must get rid of ISIS. (Nothing as to how to do it, and then into his socialist spiel).
Clinton: we must root out radical jihadists This election is also about picking next CIC, we need to do a better job of coordinating with allies on terror.
O’Malley: this the new face of conflict and warfare. We must anticipate these threats before they happen.

They started the event with a moment of silence for Paris. As we noted earlier, Bernie Sanders team was very disturbed that the focus of the debate was changed to foreign policy.
