The LSU team did arrive to the stadium in buses.

A photo of a banner circulating Twitter Friday elicited a response from the University of Alabama.

The banner depicted in the photo reads, “Finish What Katrina Started.”

The university released the following statement:

“UA is appalled that anyone would display a banner with such an inappropriate and offensive statement. It’s our understanding that the banner was hung at an off-campus apartment complex and it has been removed.”

Fans are reacting to the banner.

“To know the type of devastation, the victims, the number of victims, the types of victims, the fact that players that will be in the stadium tomorrow lived through it. I think it’s very disrespectful and it’s disrespectful not only to them, but to the university itself,” said Alabama fan Katherine Chatman.

“It is a little distasteful in that it was a hard time for us down in New Orleans, but we are past it now and just as Tuscaloosa is past their tornado. It’s all fun and we are just here to have a good time and hopefully win the game,” said LSU fan Don Champagne.
