Republican presidential hopeful Carly Fiorina made her much-anticipated appearance on the ABC talk show “The View” Friday, responding to host comments that her face was “demented.”
Fiorina, who appeared via satellite, said she had “been called all kinds of things,” during her life.
“I’ve been called bimbo from the time I was a secretary until the time I was a CEO,” said Fiorina, who led Hewlett Packard. “I think we need to have civil conversations in this country about all our differences as well as about the things that unite us.
“I think all too often we demonize the messenger when we don’t like the message,” she said.
Among those asking questions was Joy Behar, who had said she wished there was a Fiorina Halloween mask. Behar said it seems to her that Fiorina is “against programs that let women make choices for their lives,” such as access to abortions, mandatory maternity leave and raising the minimum wage.
Fiorina fired back over the interruptions.
“Well, you just went through the litany of the left: that the only way you can be pro-woman is to identify with the left’s prescriptions for women. Here’s the problem though. The prescriptions you laid out aren’t helping women,” she said.
