Quentin Tarantino reportedly called the police on a home intruder less than two weeks before giving a police brutality speech in New York City that spurred a nationwide boycott against the film director.
Mr. Tarantino was at his Los Angeles home on Oct. 11 when he noticed someone in his backyard who refused to leave, law enforcement sources reportedly told TMZ.
Either the director or a member of his staff called the police, who arrived minutes later and eventually got the intruder to leave, TMZ said.
Just 13 days later, Mr. Tarantino addressed a crowd in Manhattan, saying, “When I see murders, I do not stand by. … I have to call a murder a murder and I have to call the murderers the murderers.”
