Black male suspect, officer saved because of his vest.
Via WTAE:
A suspect was arrested Friday in connection with the shooting of a Harmony Township police officer who was protected by his bulletproof vest.
Bullet holes were left in the windshield of this car after Officer Alan Loskoch exchanged gunfire with a suspect.
Earl Louis Hollins, 18, a.k.a. “Nitty,” surrendered himself to Aliquippa police to face charges that include attempted homicide and aggravated assault, Beaver County District Attorney Anthony Berosh said at a news conference.
Police had been searching since Wednesday morning for the person who shot Officer Alan Loskoch. Authorities said Loskoch was hit in his bulletproof vest and survived.
Police Chief Robert Sivewright said that Loskoch was doing well, but was told to stay home for a few days to relax after the attack.
