Hours before lawmakers were expected to grill Hillary Clinton about the September 11, 2012 attack on the Benghazi consulate, Clinton’s campaign site screwed up the name of one of the victims.
“On September 11, 2012, a group of Islamic militia members attacked a U.S. diplomatic outpost in Benghazi, Libya,” reads a Benghazi explainer written by campaign head John Podesta and posted ahead of Clinton’s testimony. “Four Americans were killed in the terrorist attack: U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Glenn Doherty, and Tyrone Woods.”
But the name of one of the State Department contractors killed in the attack wasn’t Glenn Doherty, it was Glen, with one ‘n.’
It might have been nothing more than an understandable misspelling… if the Clinton campaign statement didn’t follow up by immediately asserting how much she cared about the victims:
